  17. Hello User Groups - especially you West coasters...
  18.  
  19. This is to announce the 3rd (annual) Apple II/Macintosh User Group conference
  20. known as AMUGshot. In past years it has been held in the Corvallis/Eugene areas
  21. of Oregon. This year it will be held in Wilsonville, OR, slightly further north
  22. and closer to Portland. In the next few days, many of you on the west coast
  23. will be receiving an invitation along with more information. Please respond as
  24. quickly as possible. You may link me here, or respond as per instructions that
  25. come with your invitation.

  27. AGENDA
  28. Although things may not have been completely firmed up I believe the following
  29. things will be happening. I know this sounds not too together, but most of the
  30. planning is being done by one of our members who lives at a distance, and he
  31. hasn't conveyed the final schedule to me as yet. Nonetheless, many things are
  32. scheduled. Craig Elliot will be coming to represent Apple and to give us the
  33. very latest on what's happening with the user group connection and within
  34. Apple. Enrique Zamora, a system Engineer from Apple's Lake Oswego office will
  35. be presenting several of Apple's new projects as well as orchestrating a System
  36. 7 session which will answer many of your technical questions. In additon,
  37. answers to other questions like distribution and support of System 7, HyperCard
  38. 2.1+ and other aspects of managing the transition will be addressed. Microsoft,
  39. Broderbund, Beagle Brothers, Now Utilities, and Central Point Software will be
  40. in attendance and will be doing presentations and having representatives there
  41. to help answer questions about their products. There may be other vendors as
  42. well. There will be an intense networking session in which the user group
  43. representatives will discuss various aspects of starting, running, maintaining
  44. user groups, as well as addressing fund raising, volunteerism, projects,
  45. education, and support issues.

  47. DATE & PLACE, etc.
  48. This conferece will take place May 18 and 19 at the Holiday Inn at Wilsonville
  49. (Stafford Exit off I-5). Accomodations for attendees may be at one of the local
  50. motels or arrangements are being made for attendees to stay in homes of PMUG
  51. and MUG of Corvallis members. Contact Rick Deneffe at 800-345-4152 for further
